Our History

In 1997: After a 40 year absence of a United Church in Wasaga Beach, a committee was formed in October, 1997 to start Wasaga Beach United Church. Public services were held in various buildings as well as parks.

We moved to the beach from Toronto back in the fall of 2016. We drove past the church on many occasions and wondered what it would be like to attend a church service. We were welcomed with open arms. The services are wonderful At the end of the service the congregation would gather and hold hands in a circle around the entire sanctuary and sing.."Bind Us Together".

We came to Wasaga Beach from Mississauga where we attended a large active United Church. We didn't know what to expect when we saw the church was an old school portable. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and felt like we belonged.The minister wore cowboy boots and had a toddler hanging on to him. It was and still is an amazing place to worship and make lifelong friends.

Our friends were enthusiastic about the ittle church they had joined and fairly quickly we settled in as members.
Congregation has grown and a new buidling was erected to accomodate our needs. We have more room for concerts, BBQ's, Open Mic Nights and Tea and Bake Sales. You should join us some day!
